Cooking!!!

Saturday 15.11.2008,

Hello again!

How are you doing? I hope the grey weather doesn't get you sad. On this cold weather is nice to stay home and to have a hygge time, isn't it? Actually, me and Judit have been doing this for a week. In the last week we took part at many hygge breakfasts and dinners. Last Thursday we had a german breakfast cooked by our friend Sarah. To be onest was a really big breakfast with salmon fish, omelette, jam and bread, and we didn't need to have lunch, we were enough filled up. We spent a nice time eating and having a girls disscution:). And I was quite curious to taste a german breakfast.

This time we were served by Sarah, she cooked for us, but on Saturday we cooked for Carsten's uncles some traditional food. They invited us to their house and they've got all the ingredients we needed for our meals.

So we went in Aabenraa on Saturday evening and we had a big romanian-hungarian dinner with Carsten, his parents and his uncles. I cooked cauliflower with mayonnise (made by hand) and garlic as an appetizer and romanian doughnuts as a dessert. I could have the opportunity to taste a delicious hungarian meal prepared by Judit: chicken (prepared in oven with nutmeg) with mashed potatoes and pickled cucumbers. It was a great meal and a great evening. Carsten's family enjoyed our food they really liked it. We ate quite much that evening but we also had timeto talk a little bit about the culture of our counties. And of course we are verry happy that we could show them a part of our cuisine.

My birthday in Denmark 04.11.2008

A really nice surprise!!!

Eh eh...another year is gone, it seems like I am getting old:). But this time was different, I've got one year old in Denmark... I think I will remember this day forever just for the simple fact that I didn't spend it in an usual way, in my country surrounded by my old friends or by my family. Now, my new friends, I' ve made since I am here, organized a surprise party for me. Judit was the head of all this, she was so mysterious in the last days before my birthday, that I could have a clue something is going on. She talked to the Germans and to the others friends of us (Carsten, Ovi) and they all came to our flate. Ines and the other girls baked a cake and until they prepared all inside the flat, Sarah invited me for a coffe just to avoid the possibility to get home on that time. Everything was so good planned and they succeeded to surprise me. Was such a good feeling to come home and to find a lot of people, a big cake, candles, wine...

On the evening, Lona, the owner of our flat brought me a birthday Danish cake, so I've got two birthday cakes... lucky me:). And I forgot to mention that my birthday started on Monday evening when Judit cooked a Hungarian meal and we (me, Sarah, Niles and a friend from school) could taste the delicious Hungarian food.

The whole week was so great, a lot of happiness, smiles, and celebration atmosphere surrounded us.

Here ends my nice birthday in Denmark!
